How can I introduce a RELAXATION cd into the market?

Posted on November 30th, 2009 by admin

that was my question. there are no gigs, no live performances in this cd. It’s the type of cd you buy in order to play in the comfort of your home, in order to help you wind down and relax. it’s a combination of soothing music, and a gentle relaxing human voice to guide you through a calming visualisation.
I heard that sometimes book authors try to sell their books at bookstores, and in order to convince that their book is selling well, make "pseudo" orders i.e.the author makes many orders to give an impression that it is selling well.Is this a good strategy? are there better strategies?

ur CD seems to be good but only for some people so u cant expect too much on that. Instead of makin pseudo orders, why dont u promote ur CD with brochures and u kno, some kind of facts and advantages, convincin customers to buy, in it.

Rock music gigs an festivals?

Posted on November 30th, 2009 by admin

Of all the gigs you have been to which has had the largest and smallest crowd. ?
What is the largest and smallest venues you’ve ever seen a live band perform at ?

Smallest – Jethro Tull in a St. Louis bar. 1971 (yes, it was the Aqualung tour LOL)

Largest – Grateful Dead at RFK stadium, 1991?
( ppl on top of ppl )
:

are there any Notorious B.I.G music gigs/concerts on DVD? ?

I have a wmv movie of a live gig, how do i convert it to mp3?

Posted on November 30th, 2009 by admin

I have a Windows media file, a video of a band playing a song, i want to change it to an mp3 file to listen to on an mp3 player or burn to a cd-r. is this possible? i have tried video converters but they only seem to change it to other types of video (avi etc). Help!

you could use this…

http://www.erightsoft.net/SUPER.html#Dnload

i have done this. drag the file into the grey box at the bottom. go back up top and in the output box on the left select mp3 and in the right hand output select mp3 again. now, on the left near the top there is a bit about disabling the video, im sure you tick that. try it anyway as no harm will be done.
when completed, go to program files the e-right and open the outbox where you will find the mp3.

Getting a refund on gig tickets?

Posted on November 30th, 2009 by admin

I’ve booked a couple of tickets for a gig in Manchester which is happening in December. I booked these ages ago online and I have all my receipts and stuff but the tickets haven’t actually arrived yet.

I’ve decided that I don’t really want to go and despite my efforts none of my mates particularly want to take them off my hands. I’ve had a quick look at the website for the venue and it does say that tickets are non-returnable. Does this still apply if I don’t physically have them yet? As in, where do I stand as a customer if I phone and cancel them? Can’t they just re-credit my account? (I don’t expect anything more than face value, and I don’t expect to get my booking fee refunded too)… Don’t really want to go down the route of trying to sell them on ebay.

Thanks in advance.

I think your stuck with them, you had 14 days from the payment going as you were entering a contract. You could try, depends on the gig, but they’ll be within their rights to refuse ;)

What is the first step in finding music gigs?

Posted on November 30th, 2009 by admin

I have a friend who can sing really well and can play the guitar to certain songs. How can I find her little gigs in my area?

well, first you can just surf the internet for any muso competitions. If your friend writes her own songs and makes her own music on the guitar, you could look at recording studios around your local area. You can join a music agency and they can find different gigs for you.
If she wants to start of slowly and work herself upwards, she could play at her school, local festivals, community centers, etc.
But i would suggest finding an agency first. They help you develop into a superstar.

How much better are 2 gigs than 1 gig of memory for my Dell Mini computer?

Posted on November 30th, 2009 by admin

My Dell mini has 1 Gig of memory and seems kind of slow, especially when I have several windows open at the same time. If I get 2 gigs will it increase the speed and enable me to use multiple windows?

odds are you have windows vista, in which the min requirments are 1GB, so at any one time most of your ram is being used by the OS, adding another 1GB will have a huge improvement to your pc’s performance. i went from 1.5GB to 2GB on my laptop running XP and could see a noticable difference
