The Chaser boys join forces with Spiderbait to play some instore gigs…outside of just record shops

I’m a 23 year old female from Glasgow (I feel like time is running out) and want to form a band, I sing and am looking for a guitarist, bass & drums but am open to suggestions on other instruments.
Putting this up here as I have advertised on Glasgow gig guide and nothing’s worked out there.
I ideally would like to create some indie/rock/pop punk but am quite open minded.
My greatest influences of the moment have to be CSS, MGMT, The Ting Tings and Vampire weekend.
Just looking to have some fun…and hopefully playing some gigs around Glasgow would be an added bonus….
Interested?
Then e-mail me.
Thanks guys.

That’s why I put Glasgow in the answer, they would need to stay near me.
Of course it would be very difficult doing it otherwise!
Would someone have to move to Scotland for the band….its kinda hard having a band when someone lives in another country.
My bf is taking me to the Arctic Monkeys at Brixton on Wednesday night. I have never been to a gig/concert or festival before so have no idea what to wear….HELP
You’ll probably get quite hot and sweaty from dancing, so something light would be good. Maybe some colourful leggings and a long no-sleeved top?
Messy hair and rock-chick make-up (lots of eyeliner) are essential for gigs as well
I will be on the North western part of Houston.
Please list any shows/plays/concerts/gig of any sort
or give me a website to find what I need

Elton John in London
Like his songs but not the bling bling
Example.. i phoned for michael buble today at 9am, when the tickets went on sale.. got right through, and he was sold out..
How are people able to get in there so fast?..!!!!!
Exactly the same situation for most of the gigs i go to. leaving me to pay over £120 for a pair of tickets that were set @ £60
Sadly, due to the shocking tactics used during ticket sales in the UK there is no way around this problem – phone lines are constantly engaged so how do people get through? Web sites constantly crash so how you people get through? Like me, you may well wonder how tickets on sale at 900am can be sold out by 902am when the above things happen?
The answer is simple. Money grabbing concert promoters and devil worshipping ticket agencies such as Ticketmaster (who may in fact be the devil) pre-sell hundreds, if not thousands, of tickets to agencies who then list the tickets on their websites as SOLD OUT, mostly at DOUBLE or more of the original cost. Then of course there are the people working on the inside who get tickets before they go on public sale and list them on ebay etc.
All of the above reasons are why I simply do not go to concerts much anymore. It is simply too difficult to get tickets in this country. I remember the days when you could get up early and go along to a venue and get tickets, or not as the case may be, at least you cold witness for yourself where tickets went. It is a pity that today real fans and real music lovers are being put in second place by evil promoters and agencies, but it is a fact of the modern world.
Me and the band are wanting to Tour Next Summer, and we need a Booking Agent, really bad, We have great Psychedelic/Hard Rock Music. And we have been playing for about 2 years, We have Nearly 24 songs of our own, which a couple we are still working on, and a few
covers as well.
If you know anybody, or if you are somebody that can help us, PLZ Answer!! ![]()
"Google" the words "Talent Agents" in your local yellow pages, which is also listed online. The "Google" the words "Night Clubs" in your local area……Go to all the clubs that feature your genre of music. Introduce yourselves, and find out when and how you can audition. Also, playing local "Charity" events is good exposure…You don’t get paid, but people will begin to recognize your name and your sound…..But to REALLY get going, you need to hire an agent. Good Luck!!!!
musical equipment in the Los Angeles area? Are they too big to find parking spots for? I have never been to L.A. and don’t know the town but will be going there and was considering purchasing one to travel to gigs and sleep in after the shows. Any ideas from an L.A. native or someone in the music business themselves?
Actually a great time to be doing this. many bands travel to their gigs in bus’s and motor homes. But right now due to the gas crunch you should be able to get some great deals on this type of vehicle. There is a motorhome forclosure market that allows you do get some amazing deals. Do your research and have a ball.
