how do i add games to my memory stick on a psp?

Posted on February 28th, 2010 by admin

i bought a used psp…..it has a 2 gigs……….i have no clue what to do………i dont even know where to start….

can u guide me step through step
i found out it is a 2.5

the firmware on your psp NEEDS to be version 1.5, 2.71, or eventually one of the non-sony custom firmwares such as 3.10 oe-c.

if you don’t have any of the above you can’t play games from your memory card and step by step instructions will be of no use to you.

this page has a ‘frequently asked questions’ about running homebrew (non-sony) applications on those specific software versions – and that’s what you need to be able to run games:
http://forums.qj.net/f-guides-hacks-homebrew-and-emulators-43/t-ultimate-homebrew-guide-faq-v214-updated-jan-30-07-13796.html

if you DO have a 1.5 or 2.71 firmware version psp, which is probably very unlikely, then i recommend upgrading it to the ‘3.10 oe-a’ custom firmware. it has all the latest sony features but also still runs homebrew/games without needing a program like devhook.

the custom firmware i mention can be found here but you do need a 1.5 or 2.71 version to be able to install it in the first place:
http://dl.qj.net/Dark_AleX-s-3.10-OE-A-PSP/pg/12/fid/12577/catid/114

bear in mind also, that by changing the firmware of your psp by means other than the ‘network update’ feature of your psp you risk ‘bricking’ your psp meaning it will be permanently ruined and unable to play ANY games – this voids your warranty with sony too.

since playing copies of games from anything other than a geniune umd disc is frowned upon by sony AND since they actively try to lock out this ability don’t expect it to be easy.

EDIT:
read the following page, you will see that from 2.5 you’ll need to upgrade to version 2.71 then downgrade to 1.5, you then have the ability to install one of the 3.XX oe-X custom firmwares available:
http://www.askdavetaylor.com/safely_downgrade_sony_psp_firmware.html

the above link gives instructions on how to do it, as does this one:
http://pspupdates.qj.net/2-5-2-6-Downgrader-FINAL-Released-/pg/49/aid/57717

remember that if it goes wrong you risk killing your psp, it’s up to you whether you feel confident about being able to do it.

Why does Yael Yuzon of Sponge Cola always wears jacket?

Posted on February 28th, 2010 by admin

I am an avid fan of Sponge Cola, especially Yael. I just noticed that everytime his band has a TV guesting, gigs, mall tours or album tours, he always wears jacket-but not most of the time. He also wears t-shirts, sometimes. And I noticed also that everytime they make a music video or a photo shoot, their brand of shoes, their brand of jackets and their brand of pants are always the same-converse, adidas, levi’s, etc…
I’m just concerned about Yael- "isn’t it hot wearing jackets these days?"

He’s out of his mind. Eventually, he’ll suffer from heat stroke.

Computer training copyrights?

Posted on February 26th, 2010 by admin

I’m an IT and I do alot of computer instruction with friends and family. i have gathered my material from experience and layouts from various sources. It has been suggested by many that I should start teaching computer class as a part-time gig. Will I be voiding any copyright laws by assembling a "Study Guide" or "Instructors Guide" from various material that’s free online for training purposes?

Thanks for any suggestions!

My suggestion would be to contact the various places to see if you can use the material you have compiled/assembled.

This way, you can find out from the people themselves if you can use it. It would be a good idea to exaplain to them what materials you are going to use.

I would also say to get written confirmation from them, so if they try to sue you for copyright, you have eveidence that they said it was ok.

You may also need to pay something to the people to be able to use it. This would normally be called a licence or something similar. Check how much and what kind of conditions you have before agreeing to it. It might also be worthwhile to find a lawyer or someone similar who can go through the licence for you to make sure you know what you can and can’t do and whether the price is not too high, too low, etc.

Where to host a Rock Festival?

Posted on February 26th, 2010 by admin

So, I just got back from one of the biggest Rock Festivals in Europe and am wondering where in the US would be a good place to host a festival like this. The festival I was at the Download Festival. There were over 75000 people there everyday with some of the biggest names in Rock playing over the 3 days. I have promoted some smaller gigs back in the states but would like to bring something of this caliber to America. Any suggestions?
I have looked into maybe race tracks..It has to be a big enough venue to host camping for the duration of the event. Vegas just seems too hot for a summertime outdoor festival of this magnatude.

Central Park – New York
Most outdoor football\baseball parks
Any automobile raceway

Have you registered for free RATM UK Gig tickets?

Posted on February 26th, 2010 by admin

I just want to get a rough idea of how quick these tickets are going to go…just answer ‘me’ or something if you are, and if you’re not then just don’t answer or something.

Good luck to my fellow Rage Against The Machine fans!

I haven’t heard any details about it.. haven’t been keeping up with it recently.
I was planning on going, but it might not happen..
I think the tickets will go pretty quickly, just register for them as fast as you possibly can. That’s all you can do.

What do you think of musicians that still have daytime job (dayjob)?

Posted on February 26th, 2010 by admin

we all know that music, or being (or aspiring) a musician, is not an easy world..
often there’s a hell lot of sacrifices to make, a thing which i’ve learned now.
whether it’s a stable living, or money, or family-relationship, or at the very extreme, the risk of being lonely poor broke musician!
that’s the risk that ANY musician (or a person who’s still have high passion & ideals in music) has to take.

so as a ‘cushion’ to all of these dangerous risks, you’ve probably met & found many musicians who still want to keep the "safe zone" by having daytime jobs, usually even not related with their passion, Music.

now, what do you think of musicians that still have daytime jobs like this?
do you thinks it’s a bit ironic somewhat?
i mean, think about it, you’ll probably never see a person whose passion or dreams to become a lawyer, or doctor, having ANOTHER non-related job as their "daytime job" .
but only in music (or rather, Art), that you’ll find many cases/stories like this where a passionate-musician, unfortunately (or ironically), have to "make a living" NOT through their utmost passion, but in fact, perhaps through a job that they DISLIKE (or even hate), just in order to keep-up with their REAL passion in Music, in their SIDE-time? (notice all my emphasis)

in an ideal world, i know that these so-called musicians probably would prefer to have Music as their ultimate FULL-time job, rather than only as their ’side-time’ job, while have to work in non-music-related daytime job.
but alas, we all know that the world we’re living is mainly geared towards Money, and thus, a musician even has to be very ‘practical’ about their life, like it or not!

do you think these musicians live ‘painfully’ (ie: not too happy) while enduring their daytime jobs at the noon? while dreaming WHEN they can really take Music as their primary full-time job?
or they are actually quite happy even while doing music (ie: gigging, touring, producing) during their side(free)-time?

I can’t answer for the millions of people out there but myself personally i don’t hate my day job because although i would not want to spend everyday of my life doing it, it is still a step closer to my real goal.
Life is about doing what you love and if you have a day job that isn’t what you love doing then only your attitude will fix this. A musician or an actress etc has to think i need this job i want this job because it is still one step further towards our goal.

There are no unrealistic goals only unrealistic time frames so until you get to do what you absolutely love change your view because in a way your day job is a positive thing towards your goal.
I’ll personally never give up I’ll fight for what i want and if that means i have to answer calls 40 hours a week I’ll do it. Nothing comes for free in this life.

Anyone looking to pursue art or music or drama needs to make it happen.

How do I find a band manager or promoter to get a lot of gigs?

Posted on February 26th, 2010 by admin

My heavy-ish rock band is ready to hit some bars and clubs to start building a bigger fan base. How do I get started with a manager or promoter so I can get seen and heard?

Don’t you have any mates who want to do it?

Check your local craigslist if not.
