Gigs

Everything started when i met that singer of a really famous english band randomly. He was just looking at me and i hadn’t even noticed that it was HIM! After that day he found me and sent me a message on facebook telling me that he remembered me and that i caught his attention. I was sooo excited! Anyways we were chatting quite often and one day he asked me to meet up. He was so sweet with me, he kissed me and he told me that it would be better not to go out the next day because he was about to go touring and that would be awkard for him. That meant that he really liked me and he didn’t want to get hurt. I wasn’t really into that band that period but i started to like their music very much. It became my favorite band. He was touring for one year, in 20 different countries but we were still talking. He seemed really interested in me. When he came back we met again and we had a very intense night. He confessed, that he really liked me and he wanted to keep going out with me but we couldn’t have a serious relationship as he was always away touring. Also he said that it is not possible not because he wanted to do something with other girls but he needed to focus on his band. He said he was the only one that had so much work. He writes the lyrics, the music, everything. He wasn’t able to have someone else except his music on his mind. Anyways. now i think i am obsessed. I watch his every step! I can’t stand thinking that there are so many fans around him. However i know that whenever he is back home, he arranges a meeting with me. I go pretty often to his gigs as i am on his guestlist but he is not very hearty when we are in public. When we are alone he is so protective, he seems that he cares for me. I am afraid that even if i want to find someone else he won’t be as good as him because he is famous as well. And that is so attractive!

Sounds like you’re just a little piece of action or he would act the same with you in public as he does in private. Your lack of being a "fan" may have been one of the factors that attracted him to you…he knew you werent being with him because he was famous. If you want more of him, try being his friend, not his fan.

My girlfriend and I are going to Milan over the October half term Sunday 24th to Wednesday 27th. Obviously we’re missing the weekend but I wondered if anyone has any advice for where to go on Sunday, Monday and tuesday night.

Is there happy hour and plenty going on Sunday and midweek?

In England we like going to festivals, gigs, bars and clubs that play indie music, all the usual bands like Oasis, Kasabian and the more recent ones etc. Is there anywhere you could recommend?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

There is a happy hour at every bar in the city, it is called aperitivo, where for 6-11 euros you get any drink with free food, its a buffet system, so you can eat all you want.. Its better to check out the food before you go though, check 3-4 places..
Some places serve pasta, some serve small bites, some serve Indian, some sushi, etc.. Timeout Milan is your guide..
Happy hour is from 6-9 I think..
When I used to go, I ate enough to make it my dinner, I was a student on limited budget!

Try Navigli, there are lovely bars there.. Some have live music..

Check out places like Alcatraz which sometimes have local bands perform there.. Lacuna Coil is pretty regular there..

& bloody Take That got me stressy when i was trying to get Jovi tickets through Ticketmaster – bloody crashed the site didn’t they!! My good Jovi tour buddy is also going to see Take That on a different night – i say no thanks. I’m a Jovi girl loud and proud, and have been for 24 years – Jovi are the only band i go to see live ..in fact the only live shows ive been to since 1993 have been Jovi ones!!!!!

I was wondering, when bands play gigs and concerts, it seems as if the drummer has the worst luck since they’re equipment looks like it’d take the longest to set up. When they play gigs and concerts, who sets up the drums? Do they do it themselves, or do they have people who do it for them? How long does it usually take to set up a drum set at a concert? For example, at a rock concert, like Four Year Strong or A Day to Remember, or New Found Glory. How long would it usually take to set up drums?

Also, if there’s a line up, does each band set up their gear after each other, or do they all share? Thanks.
Oh, also, when they’re on tour per say, and they load/unload their equipment… in terms of drums, do they take the WHOLE set apart, or just enough to have it fit with everything else?

they use their own gear and they have people to do it for them (if they are a big band) and maybe 15 minutes (at a concert, for everyone else its like 40 minutes.)

hey, i’m from the uk (if that matters?) and i’m looking for a descent average/cheap website that sells tickets for all types of gigs, festivals and stuff.. so theres things like ticket master, and ‘the-band-your-looking-fors-website’ but i was just wandering, if you’ve been to alot of gigs or concerts where you get all your tickets?

There’s a series of Aiden Grimshaw gigs, about 7-10 i think, around the country this Spring. NOT the X factor live ones, JUST Aiden. Does anyone have any idea of the price of tickets? VIPs, maybe? If it’s large scale or intimate? Meet and greet? Thanks xx

I got my 3OH!3 Tickets today and they are for Standing Stalls.
I got 2 tickets one says Standing Stalls 1 and the other says Standing Stalls 2. What does this mean?

It means you’ll be standing in a stall like cattle.
